My profile picture on Facebook is the best I have taken in the recent past. What most people see is my face, unaware that there is so much beauty under my feet (well, I know I am a pretty girl). The photo was taken when I visited my friend at the countryside. The sight of their epoxy flooring was so breathtaking I had to take a photo there. Her digital camera did just what was expected of it. It captured a very honest image of me-and I must say the beauty of it all was the epoxy floor underneath me. Epoxy floors are nice for taking photos because they have a characteristic shine that no other surface can have. Little wonder, then, that my elder sister also wants to take a photo against that beautiful epoxy flooring background. I wonder why the photo studio near home can’t embrace epoxy flooring to get more customers.

These days I let the kids play on their own while I do the housework. They are at the age where they are old enough to demand for things to do or play but not old enough to help me with the housework yet. Well, not most of it. So I figured the best way to get them out of my way was to let them play with whatever they want, including my husband’s best flashlight.

While I would prefer them not to play with their father’s prized flashlight, I was desperate to get them to leave me to finish my housework. So I allowed them to borrow the flashlight after they pleaded for it for the longest time and not before I warn them to take good care of it. And do you know what they were playing? Well, first they draw back the curtains to darken their room. Then they go into their playhouse and tell ghost stories! The flashlight was for “special effect”! The things my kids do for fun!

The firm I was working for is one of the highly desirable companies in the country. Everything is high tech from the door all the way to our offices. There are systems for everything, including usage of software to monitor employees like me, but I still have co-workers who continually do personal errands while at work.

One of our bosses was closely monitoring a few of my officemates and many were caught violating the company’s policy, but still many did the same thing.

Out of 5, only 4 in our office were caught and everyone wondered why. When I got there, my boss stood up and shook my hand. Then he said he was monitoring everyone just so he can pick the next supervisor to promote. Luckily, I was the only one who has proven him wrong when he actually thought I was one of those who have been getting dozens of violations. Now I am the one doing monitoring employees.

I used to cook hard boiled eggs almost every day for one year before I read an article on the internet that it is not good to eat eggs every single day. The eggs are very good for our diet, but it is recommended that we should not eat more than 5 eggs in a week. Anyway, I kept cooking hard boiled eggs, but not as often as I did before. I have had for a long time now a favorite recipe when it comes to boiling eggs. I like my boiled eggs to be hard, but not too hard so that I would have the feeling I am chewing a gum. My uncle used to prepare for me the breakfast in the morning for almost 5 years and each morning I will get the same eggs as I did the day before. He had a perfect recipe for hard boiling the eggs.
